Los Rios Street with Urban Sketchers

This sketch was created on Los Rios Street this weekend while attending an event with Los Angeles Urban Sketchers, San Diego Urban Sketchers, San Clemente Urban Sketchers and Long Beach Sketch Meet Up. I normally sketch for 2 hours but this event was 4 hours which included coffee, visiting, taking photos and sketching. This extra time allowed me to tackle a full spread in this handmade sketchbook.

Watercolor with Urban Sketchers at Mission Trails Visitor Center

These sketches were created at the Mission Trails Visitor Center in San Diego while at an event with the San Diego Urban Sketchers.  I used my favorite drawing tools which are the koh-i-noor rapidosketch  pen and a set of Holbein watercolors. The Mission Trails Regional Park encompasses 7,220 acres of both natural and developed recreational land with 60 miles of hiking trails.

Reconstructed Journal (a journal flip)

A sketchbook flip. I made this reconstructed journal with Stephen Sloan (instructor) at Studio Maureen & The Next Door Gallery. Journal dates from February thru April 2014. Video length 2:37 minutes.

 

International Cottages, Balboa Park, CA

This is a 2 minute video of my friends and I sketching in Balboa Park. It shows the artists, sketches and some of the cottages.

This is a mosaic I did at Kate O'Brien's class at the San Diego Botanic Garden in Encinitas. It was sponsored by the San Dieguito Artist Guild. There is a short video of the other artist's work also.

 This mosaic was not created with tile. It was created with glass and not I haven't put grout on it yet. The size is 12 x 12 inches (wood).

Cactus Garden Balboa Park, CA

I enjoyed the day with about 6 other sketchers at the Old Cactus Garden in Balboa Park, CA.
