Pot Lesson 6 - Glazing

Spraying is one technique for applying glaze.
Valerie ran the glaze through a sieve to make it smooth and creamy then used her air compressor and a wheel that turns while she applied the glaze. In this picture she is applying a transparent glaze over my Chinese lettering pot that says Eternity (not Harmony).
The red lid protects the bottom from being sprayed and the rock protects the red lid from being blown off.

This pot had a lot of texture so I tried Valerie's suggestion of painting on the glaze while the wheel was turning it round and round. The indented areas are left without glaze.

The glazed pots ready to be fired.

Panera

Panera: a great place to draw people.
Though I'm not used to filling in darks like this
I like the way Crack Skull Bob does it.

Hattie

I cannot believe I haven't drawn since Friday at the NCSFA Sketch and Paint out - I usually draw every day. I was so happy to see my friend Susan, I just visited with her instead of drawing. Well, I did draw the back of her dog, Hattie.
