Sketching at Mt. Soledad Veterans Memorial in La Jolla

This sketch was done on the back side of the watercolor paper. No matter how hard I tried to put in my darks they were soaked up by the paper. It was a fun morning anyway, I met with the San Diego Urban Sketchers. A 3:38 minute video of the morning is shown below.

Scripps Memorial Hospital, La Jolla

The Wolfstein Sculpture Park at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, is part of the Arts for Healing program. The San Diego Urban Sketchers met there this morning to draw in and around the Serenity Garden. My sketch is of Pedestrian Observation by Ed Benavente.

Painting at Torrey Pines State Reserve

Today was the paint out with the North County Society of Fine Arts in Torrey Pines, La Jolla. I had never been there and once again was in awe of the BEAUTY in my back yard. . . well in the same county... here is a link to my you tube video and my piece.

Brie

Today I met Brie for lunch and coffee in La Jolla. She's a cool gal to know and I wanted to say goodbye before she leaves for a nine month semester in France.

NCSFA Paint Out

The North County Society of Fine Arts had it's monthly Sketch and Paint Out at Kellogg Park in La Jolla. Here are some of the painters, paintings and the view!

Children's Pool Beach, La Jolla

Children's Beach in La Jolla was originally designed as a safe
place for children to wade, but is now a haven for sunbathing seals.
There were only about 20 today with lots of pelicans and birds.

The San Diego Watercolor Society had their paint out there today.
