EDM 79

Everyday matters Challenge #79 is draw an ear, or two or three.

I took a reference picture of my ear with my cell phone camera. I was pretty disappointed when I saw my ear. It's not what I expected. It was very ugly with a long lobe and a squarish top. I can't compare how it looks to other peoples ears cuz I don't like to look at other's ears. I'm afraid I will see wax and that would really gross me out.

Usually my hair covers my ear.

My sister has very tiny ears.
Do you hear me?

Edm challenge #107

Everyday matters challenge 107 is draw how you get your news. This is a little transistor radio that I got for my desk at work over 20 years ago. I still use it on my desk at home even though it only gets AM radio and only 2 stations get good reception. I listen to the news while I am waking up having a cup of coffee. I like the radio because my mom gave it me.

The sketch below is from this morning.

EDM Challenge #3

Everyday matters Challenge #3 is "Purses, Wallets, or Bags". I was at an empty house waiting for someone to come give me an estimate on kitchen cabinets so I drew my purse on the counter. Twice. I am not into name brands, I pick my bags by how well they will carry a sketch book, pen and tiny paint set.

Me and Susan also had an outing planned because she knew of a wonderful place to take pictures of roosters and chickens. I took tons of reference photos - the chickens were laying eggs before our very eyes!

We were a block away from Dos Picos which is a huge park and campground in Ramona, California. They have a fishing lake, lots of shady trees and huge rocks. She gave me a little tour while I checked it out for a possible group paint out location.

Sketches while chatting.

Zoo Class #2

Today was the last day of the zoo class.

Yesterday I spoke to a fellow artist about his cartooning and he shared his sketchbook with me. He had some wonderful caricatures of his friends. I was really surprised and excited today when he gave me a book he learned and practiced from!

Annette suggested that we draw our animal from a distance, then close, then a detail. I attempted to follow direction but my details weren't so detailed and my distance was pretty close.

I took more pics with my new camera.

Class at the zoo

Susan invited me to attend her zoo class today. The instructor, Annette Paquet was awesome and the class was absolutely FREE with the city of San Diego! I expect to take more classes from Annette, such as figure and plain air landscape painting.

EDM #64 Draw a Sink

This is my gray sink.

I sent my 11x 14 inch sketchbook off to Dawn Sokol for her book 1,000 journal entries so NOW I am sketching in this very teeny tiny 4x6 inch book. . . Well it feels extra tiny even when doing a spread.
