Yesterday I spoke to a fellow artist about his cartooning and he shared his sketchbook with me. He had some wonderful caricatures of his friends. I was really surprised and excited today when he gave me a book he learned and practiced from!
Annette suggested that we draw our animal from a distance, then close, then a detail. I attempted to follow direction but my details weren't so detailed and my distance was pretty close.

I love your animal sketches! I grew up in San Diego and I sure do miss that zoo. I would love to sketch there.
