Fly high
What's real can't die
You only get what you give

Serendipity

Yesterday I was talking to a young lady about carrying a sketch book around. She rides the trolley quite a bit and I was telling her about some artists I know that draw subway people .. exclusively.

That evening while reading my Everyday Matters email I read a post that Suzanne Urban wrote about an artist named Marvin. He drew with a ball point pen and the article shows many of his subway sketches. He has some awesome drawings you can check out here:

TOOTH Issues

I haven't posted in a while due to horrible teeth issues:

When I looked at journal entries from earlier in the week I realized it started coming on around 4 days before I actually got help.

R.I. P. Harvey Pekar

My favorite art news website artdaily.org reported that Harvey Pekar died Monday. He was one of my favorite autobiographical comic book writers. He was 70. The article is here.

life drawing

I went to my friend's house for life drawing. There were only 3 of us but it was fun just the same. The model is also an artist so we had fun talking about art shows, techniques and materials. Too bad I didn't take some pictures of the other artist's work. One artist did pencil drawings from different angles and the other artist worked with oil crayons. Here is my work:
Oil on a 6x8 inch canvas panel
oil in a moleskine sketchbook
