The trip to North Park, San Diego

The trip to north park was just as fun as the figure drawing session. I got to see Stephen, Rachel, and Sami there. The model was Valerie.

I think that song was playing the last time I drove down there too.

Life Drawing at Encinitas Library

My friend, Rachel and I met for lunch at the Subway in Encinitas then headed over for a few hours of Life Drawing at the Encinitas Library. Two 20 minute poses and an artist.

Crow stamps

A few years ago I met 2 strangers on the internet. One of them was Stephen Sloan who is an artist, book binder, street performer and an eraser carver. He has inspired me in so many ways. I finally tried my own stamp carvings when making a gift for a friend. This is a "test page" testing 4 stamps of crows I made during the last week. It's getting easier with the right tools and lots of practice. Oh, the other stranger I met was Rachel Kopel my art buddy, book maker and mail artist. Thanks guys!!

Balboa Park, California

I went to Balboa Park on my day off. I met a few friends to sketch at the Memorial Garden outside the San Diego Veterans Museum. This is a sketch and the video.

Making a box

This box was made from instructions found on the lovely design blog the instructions are here. It was a fun project and the intructions are very easy to follow. I decided not to make a lid although it was tempting. The paper used on the outside was given to me by my friend Rachel. (thanks Rachel and Sharilyn)

The book is 5 inches square with 2 inch sides.

Book Making

My friend Rachel showed me how to make little books today. the pages are all from one sheet of paper folded and cut. The cover is half of a sheet folded. It was fun talking art and looking at books!

Yesterday I got a ticket from Rachel and a little book from Stephen. The book was part of his booklet a day project. It's an 8 page book folded from one sheet of paper. Cool beans.
