Mapping

I saw a neat idea on Dawn Sokol's blog, "D'BLOGALA". She mentioned the book, You Are Here which is a collection of handmade maps from the imagination. Based on that prompt, I mapped my errands for Tuesday and Wednesday.

Tuesday started out with a delivery for the Small Image Show in Encinitas. I also picked up artwork that was in the Escondido Art Partnership Show where one of my pieces won an honorable mention.

This map shows my trip to the DENTIST and back. YUCK!!!

Thanks to all that checked on us during the Witch Creek Fire. It's been hard getting back to normal spirits but drawing helps the mood so I FORCED myself to go to the figure class.

October grid

This one is for Erin and Patty of Everyday Matters who requested to see everyone's "grid". I make mine random. I sketch and paint daily in my sketchbook journal but the grids have a note about what happened that day. Not just a sketch of an item I see or notes I want to jot down to myself. Sometimes I forget to make a note in my grid. On those days I just have a date. I would also like to see other's grids.

NCSFA Sketch and Paint Out - Lake Wohlford

Today was the North County Society of Fine Arts Sketch and Paint Out at Lake Wohlford.
We met at a turnout. A dangerous turn out. Some people left for another location.

Maybe it was because of the skunk tail or the crackers and cereal all over the place.

Well, that's OK we all met later for lunch and a little show and tell. Mine is the tiniest painting in the center.

EDM 138 draw something soft

Susan, Margaret and I spent about 7 hours plein air painting with Annette Paquet's class. I am still working on my piece from last week.


















This is a lady at the critique. She doesn't have a Mr. Potato Head nose in real life BUT she does have a SOFT and floppy hat.

Everyday Matters Challenge 137 is draw something you can turn on and off. There are tons of things in the hospital you can turn on and off and I drew LOTS of them.
