These drawings are on tissue paper. I used Elmer's glue stick to glue a beige tissue paper on top of an encyclopedia page. The tissue paper came when my anniversary flowers were delivered (the tissue paper kept the vase from shaking around in the box it was held in).
I sketched from posemanics.com with a felt tip marker but the Elmer's glue served as a resist so it didn't go on very well. I used black marker and gray marker for the shading but you can't really tell.
I used children's watercolor to color around the figures, it drys very chalky looking and it's a different color when it is wet.

Evan's Pond
This is a work in progress started at the San Diego Watercolor Society at Evan's Lake by Scripps Ranch Library. It was a muggy morning and I had a hard time finding a subject that "moved" me! I will continue to focus on separating the tree masses with watercolor pencil.

Spanish Village
This watercolor of an area in Spanish Village was painted on gessoed paper. It was very frustrating because the paint just sits on top of the paper. I repeat the same mistakes by thinking I can be successful using this method. It doesn't work.

Vista Viking Festival 2015
The Vista Viking Festival was held in Norway Hall in San Diego this weekend. We enjoyed watching bread, weapons, coins and lefse being made. This is one of the men I enjoyed watching and sketching.
