Urban Sketching at Farmers Market at Old Poway Park

I went to Old Poway Park with the intent of sketching. Having music while I was Urban Sketching was a treat. I drew the musician with the saxophone first and was going to stop after drawing him but then I decided to fill my page. If I had done more planning I would have put them in their correct positions and scale. I use Winsor and Newton Watercolors with a Paper Mate Flair Pen. I did the drawing first, then filled with paint.

The view from my kitchen patio.
The sky is kind of gray. Blue gray.
It's already rained once this week and we expect more.

Lots of green.

Sandwich shop, Poway

This is the sandwich shop across from Old Poway Park. I like it because it has Betty Boop standing out front. The page came out muddy because I tinted the paper an off white before I worked on it. But really...that's just an excuse for a lousy sketch painting.....

Everyday Matters Challenge #127

I have to admit, I wasn't sure what a sky scape looked like. After looking up a definition and seeing a sample I found out that I could draw my rock.

Tooth Rock. Located right above my house. It's huge! When people hike up there they look very tiny next to it. When I first moved to San Diego I did some lengthy mental calculations and figured out that if it rolls down, it won't hit me. No worries.

The sandwiches are huge . . . and yummy.
