Today I made a box out of a square sheet of paper to "organize" some cards in my office. The box on the left is a brown cardboard box covered with the same paper. This will help me keep my small frames in a more compact space in my artroom.

While I was doing this I was wondering why I don't just buy boxes instead of making them. I think this is just what artists DO...

7 Gods of Happiness

Today I finished Ebisu, my 3rd God in the set of 7 Gods of Happiness. He is pure hearted and contented with a simple life, always lucky and happy.
To his right is Hotei, very open-minded, an optimist and always happy.
The lady is Benten the only woman in the group. She represents art, literature, music and eloquence and my favorite. The tallest figure is about 8 inches tall.
I was introduced to these when my friend Eileen showed me a set her dad gave her when she was a little girl.

Tooth Rock

The big rock on the top of the hill is called Tooth Rock.

I plan to photograph it every month for a year from the very same location and make a poster out of it.

I have 3 photos so far!

Crow stamps

A few years ago I met 2 strangers on the internet. One of them was Stephen Sloan who is an artist, book binder, street performer and an eraser carver. He has inspired me in so many ways. I finally tried my own stamp carvings when making a gift for a friend. This is a "test page" testing 4 stamps of crows I made during the last week. It's getting easier with the right tools and lots of practice. Oh, the other stranger I met was Rachel Kopel my art buddy, book maker and mail artist. Thanks guys!!

Farmers Market in Poway California
