Life drawing
Yesterday I painted some pages in my sketchbook to work on at life drawing today. I am not too happy with my results. I got kind of sloppy. My favorite was drawing on the brown paper bag. I hardly had to apply very much skin color due to the color of the bag.

Passion for Painting Award
A while back Sarah Lynch gave me the "Passion for Painting" award. I am finally passing it on and thank Sarah very much. Even though it has taken me so long to post it I want you to know I really appreciate it!

It came with these "instructions": This one asks you to share seven things that you like and seven artists (I take this to mean artists with an internet presence) who inspire you.
My artrists are:
Boy this was so hard. I am inspired by all the art bloggers...

Gary and the Bus

The paper is so thin on this moleskine the color bleeds through. I had to put some paper on the back of the hattie drawing to use the next page.

Old Poway Park

Hattie (Harriot Orpehlia) has been around a long time. She usually wears a colorful outfit depending on what holiday it is. Yesterday she wore a red sweatshirt to keep her warm during the morning. The first part of the morning I concentrated on sketching her as she roamed around the other artists.

Later I drew some of the buildings but found there were more bushes than buildings.

Friday Night Fever

Video performance artist, Megan Pogoda created a live video on the front wall of the museum.
Inside there was the Lowbrow Art Exhibit, Institutional Well Being and Cell Memory.
It was a great night with lots of activity inside and out of the museum. We took a stroll around town and stopped into a comic shop where older guys were playing dungeon and dragons and passed by a MUSCLE shop where young men from the armed services were flexing their muscles.
These meters were located in "Artist's Alley" a few blocks from the museum.

bow wow
Bow wow was supposed to be a guest at the Best Buy today but he never showed up.

This has nothing to do with Bow wow but my friend told me this the other day and I liked it.

Wild Animal Park, San Diego, CA
There is a Lorikeet Landing at the Wild Animal Park where you can buy little cups of nector to feed the birds. They fly up and sit on your arm while they DRINK away. When the cup is empty they are off to find more. These are very colorful birds, but I didn't sketch too much. Mostly took pictures.

My favorite animals were the caterpillars.
