West Coast Clydesdale Ranch
Today I met with the San Diego Urban Sketchers Meetup group at the West Coast Clydesdale Ranch in Lakeside. The owners, Betty and Mark gave us a tour of the property and then we settled in to sketch. There were so many things to sketch! I settled on one of the buildings.

Sketching on Jennisse's property
I got to go the Santa Ysabel yesterday to see my friend's property. On the way we rode through the Indian reservation, passed a casino and also the Santa Isabel Mission. It was a great ride.

Sketching at Mira Mar Lake
Today was the San Diego Urban Sketchers Meetup at Lake Mira Mar. I sketched the view from the south side. I worked in pencil, watercolor and watercolor pencil in a Moleskine sketchbook.

Bodhisatlva
My friend Ella and I went to the San Diego Museum of art to view some Charles Reiffel pieces. They didn't have that many, we looked at some of the other art and did some sketching as well.
My sketch is of a seated Bodhisatlva, Chinese, 565BCE. Limestone.

Rancho Buena Vista Adobe, Vista, CA
Today I had the pleasure of attending the San Diego Urban Sketchers Meetup group at the Rancho Buena Vista Adobe in Vista.

Rancho Buena Vista is the best-preserved of the fabled land-grant ranchos. It looks much as it did over 150 years ago,

NEW San Diego County Library
The San Diego Culture Meetup group met for a tour of the new San Diego County Library on Friday October 25th. It was a fun meetup. There is a lot to see on all of the 9 floors.

The Persian Water Rug Fountain
I met with "the Rachel Group" in Balboa Park today to sketch in a little area where the Persian Water Rug Fountain is located. The fountain wasn't running but there was a great view and a lot of art talk.

Rendezvous in Poway, Old Poway Park
Today I got to meet with the San Diego Urban sketchers Meetup Group to wander around encampments from the late 1800's at Old Poway Park, in San Diego. We talked with Civil war soldiers, cowboys, and a medicine man.

Wavecrest Woodie Event, Moonlight Beach, encinitas, California
Saturday was a huge event for the San Diego Woodie Club which is a Chapter of the National Woodie Club. They had their Wavecrest event at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas where over 300 Woodie enthusiasts meet to show off or sell their cars. This is the largest Woodie networking event in the country.
The San Diego Urban Sketchers met at this event for a morning of sketching and networking as well!

Copper Meadows, Ramona, CA
Yesterday I attended an Eventing Event my neighbor participated in. I only saw one of her events but found out later she placed 2nd in the event! It was held at Copper Meadows in Ramona. I did a little sketching while there.

Festival of the Sail 2013
Festival of Sail is the LARGEST Tall Ship festival on the west coast and is hosted at the Maritime Museum of San Diego. Me and Dominique Eiche visited the harbor to sketch the event.
The Pilgrim was built in 1945; Denmark. Her home port is Dana Point, CA. The Pilgrim is a full sized replica of the 1825 hide brig immortalized by Richard Henry Dana, Jr. in his American seafaring classic novel, Two Years Before the Mast.
Surprise built 1970; Nova Scotia. Home port: San Diego, CA The ship now known as HMS Surprise began life in 1970 as a replica of the 18th century Royal Navy frigate Rose. During the next 30 years Rose sailed thousands of miles as an attraction vessel and sail training ship prior to her conversion to HMS Surprise for the academy award winning film, *Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World.
