Obon Festival at the Vista Buddhist Temple 2014
The Obon Festival at the Vista Buddhist Temple had Jodaiko, a collegiate taiko group perform as part of the festival's entertainment. What great practice for gesture drawing! This is my page of sketches done during their 30 minute performance.

Hanamatsuri at the Vista BuddhistTemple
Sketches from the Hanamatsuri Flower Festival Celebrating the Birth of the Buddha at the Vista Buddhist Temple in San Diego, California.
Japanese Classical Dancers, a Buddha and Taiko Drumming. There was a lot of movement which was a great exercise for sketching. Pencil and watercolor in a large watercolor moleskine.

Rancho Buena Vista Adobe, Vista, CA
Today I had the pleasure of attending the San Diego Urban Sketchers Meetup group at the Rancho Buena Vista Adobe in Vista.
This is my sketch of the fountain and statue.
Rancho Buena Vista is the best-preserved of the fabled land-grant ranchos. It looks much as it did over 150 years ago,

Tractor Museum, Vista CA
Today I met with my friend Kim Cruz at the Tractor Museum in Vista for a Meetup of the San Diego Urban Sketchers Group. There was also a gem show and a Fiber show.
