Did a little sketching at Old Poway Park today while Gary took pictures of me for Gabi Campanario's book on Urban Sketchers. We did a lot of errands with the last stop...Dairy Queen for a Sundae.

Cleveland, Ohio

I got to spend the week in Cleveland for a work assignment. It was a great experience! I got to sketch on the plane and at the airport.

Today was a great morning spent at Old Poway Park. While I was there I heard there was a softball tournament at Aubrey Park so I spent a little time watching and listening to girls playing softball while sketching the view from the fields.

My husband and I took a trip to Borders so I could pick up Maira Kalman's new book And the Pursuit of Happiness. We stumbled upon Patti Digh from the 37 days Blog. Patti was promoting her new book Creative is a Verb which I bought along with Life is a Verb. She signed them both for me. We sat and listened to her talk for a while and I heard things I needed to hear.

Since starting my NEW FULL TIME job I have NOT found the energy to do the art I used to create on a daily basis. Well, I heard many words of encouragement. Mainly my own interpretation of "just do it" and "no excuses". Thank you Patti!
